Level 3 Gas Diploma Qualification Funding

ADVANCED LEARNER LOANS

In May 2016 Advanced Learner Loans were launched for courses commencing from August 1st 2016. This section tells you everything you need to know about them. Please phone us on 01923 253 866 or call in and speak to a member of our team for further information and advice.

A SHORT SUMMARY ABOUT ADVANCED LEARNER LOANS

Courses at Level 3 and above are no longer funded by the Government and can only be funded via a loan or payment in full by either the student, parent and or employer or combination to meet the full fee amount. This figure could be paid in full or instalments rather than applying for a loan.

Loans for courses starting in August 2016 are now available for applications and you can apply online (see section ‘How to apply for a Advanced Learner Loan’ below).

You will be eligible if you are:

  • Aged 19 or over on the first day of your course
  • Living in the UK for the past 3 years
  • Studying with an approved learning provider
  • Enrolled on a level 3 course or above, for example, A levels, Access to HE, advanced or higher apprenticeships

You will only commence repayment in the April following completion of your course and not begin making repayments until your salary is above £21,000. The loans are not means tested.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A ADVANCED LEARNER LOAN

You can complete a loan application form at one of our training centres under the guidance of one of our experienced staff members. We can then check through your application and send it off to the student loans company on your behalf. Alternatively you can make an application online through the following Government website (see link below). But first:

  1. Speak to a member of our team to discuss your course
  2. Then, ask us for a ‘Learning and funding information’ letter – you need this to complete the application. It contains the details about your course
  3. You can apply online - you'll need to register first. You can apply by post if you can't apply online.
  4. You'll get a letter confirming your loan – usually within 2 weeks if you apply online ( postal applications take longer)

Once you have this letter, then follow this link to the Government website below to complete your application. The link to the online application page is here:
